Through the use of Wonderdraft, a cartography software that allows the creation of fantastical maps for any fantasy or realistic setting, I have had the chance to recreate one of my first and beloved universes. Below I have a before and after of the same map, the first being a literal drawing attempt concept art through an off-brand version of Microsoft Office called Open Office, and the second being through Wonderdraft. After nearly fifty hours (and more to come) of configuring and learning of the software with a friend, I couldn’t be happier with the final product, and I look forward to seeing this right inside the front cover of paper copies of my novel once it’s published!
